I am new here to tumblr and I am so excited that I went into my kid in a candy shop mode and clicked a lot of blogs to follow. I want to start by telling about myself so you can really like me, the vain part of the ego… I grew up in New Jersey. I have two community college degrees. I am retired from USCG for medical reasons, depression, ptsd-mst, hearing lose with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and a few other conditions. My last unit MSO Honolulu tortured me so bad that I ended up in the Psych Ward in Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu, HI. Yes, it is like you see in the movies, the other wardees taught me well, which will be another post in the future. I do have a learning disability and dyslexia so writing is a huge challenge for me… But, sometimes I make up words and they might not be correct in the English teacher sense but all well it is me. So, I will ask for your help and please be kind. You can post on here or e-mail me. My depression and ptsd-mst has changed me from who I was into who the fuck is that…and then I into depression fucking mode can’t get out of bed. I like to use the word fuck it is a great PTSD word… No I am not bi-polar, just anger and sadness… They define who I am because they will always be with me, oh well… I am also a woman who loves another woman, we have been together for 23 years. I don’t like being called a lesbian, I am not a category or need to be defined by others who are not my part of my life. So many up tight ass people out there who think they need to control… I go off, which I also do, hey it is my blog, hope you can follow my random bullshit… I love you Rita and we want all the benefits on the Federal level, should be the same for all whether you are married or not… don’t want or need the word marraige, it is meaningless any more and too much value is putting on it, because love is fucking love… I am also a Humanist, I totally believe in all people, always have, always been a radical, rebel with a cause, values are important, social concern, human dignity, social justice (no one should be in jail for smoking pot)… everyone be treated with respect, honesty, global inclusiveness, global thinking, questioning authority, always remember my motto: no one rules me but me… I have noticed such a sift in how people really treat each other and it makes me sad… attacking someone because of what they believe is wrong…. I am also so far left that I am off the map… I believe people should have their own choices in their lives, no matter what the issue is, unless it hurts another human… I do hate rapists, sexual assaulters, I don’t use the word molesters, I feel it gives rapists a free ride, it is always rape no matter what you do if it is unwanted. Went off again… I warned you about my strong feelings, ptsd moment… I have a very interesting life, many adventures, etc… hope you like my posts and more to come, still learning my way around. I love reading, books, trying new things, making others laugh, and music has always been a huge interest. trying to learn how to play the sax…. I really love it here, for a lot of reasons so far… so many different types of people on here, blogs, ideas, art, so many to explore… I appreciate all of this and I have control over what I need to… FaceBook is okay, but I don’t like being attacked for what I believe or how I write or who I love… Just not my style… and the other FB blocked me from sending friend request when I had not sent them in a really long time, what kind of bullshit is that, really pissed me off. and if you don’t want the request, hit the fucking ignore and grow the fuck up… really do appreciate you stopping by…

Concerned Women for America (CWA) revealed exactly how little concern they have for actual women, much less for America, this week when they sent out a letter attacking women who defend our country for having the nerve to believe they deserve full medical care after being raped. The mind-bogglingly vicious swipe at female soldiers had a couple of doozies, including the claim that allowing raped service members to access abortion “serves as a political distraction” from national security, as if it’s in the interest of national security to subject raped service members to forced childbirth. CWA also pretended to care about female troops with blather describing being raped and forced to bear a rapist’s child as merely “difficult circumstances” requiring “compassion and support,” as if they themselves aren’t putting servicewomen who’ve been raped in infinitely worse circumstances by limiting their access to abortion. (Perhaps Orwell should have lived to write a book about the doublespeak of anti-choicers.)
But in a letter dripping with congratulatory faux concern and naked disregard for female service members who have been raped, the most attention-grabbing quote was this:
“Women deserve better than simply being given abortion as a ‘cure-all.”
Beyond that is the poor logic of this quote. Let’s take their reasoning and put it into different contexts, to see how hateful it is:
Mugging victims deserve better than to have their wounds tended as if it were some “cure-all.”
Heart attack victims deserve better than simply being given Pacemakers as a “cure-all.”
